Alyson Evans

Alyson is a performer, theatre maker, producer and community artist with a particular focus on cultural development and social change. Since her move from Wales to Larrakia Country in 2011 Alyson has worked around Australia, making theatre with remote Indigenous communities, young people, people with disabilities, adults and youth within the justice system and people of all ages from refugee background; as well as in Cambodia, Nepal and Europe. Alyson works with a range of theatre companies, including Brown’s Mart Theatre (Creative Producer), Outback Theatre for Young People (Community Producer), Sydney Theatre Company (Teaching Artist) and the Flying Fruit Fly Circus (Associate Director). In 2015 Alyson received the Australia Council for the Arts Kirk Robson Award, which recognises outstanding leadership from artists working in the Community Arts & Cultural Development sector. Alongside her work, she is currently studying a Masters of Cultural Leadership at NIDA.
